Natural Distribution
Naturally, the geographic distribution of the Bengal tiger includes a variety of habitat types, including temperate forests, subtropical woodlands, reed beds, and evergreen forests. The optimal habitat for the Bengal tiger is tropical deciduous forests in the Indian subcontinent and in Southeast Asia.
Habitat and Environmental Controls
Tigers are most often found in areas that contain swamps, grasslands, and rain forests. Due to the hot temperature and arid climate of the biome they are found in, Bengal tigers reside in shaded areas. Their sensitivity to heat requires them to live on land populated with trees, bushes, or tall grass and near a large water source. These components also allow them to camouflage with their surroundings while they prey on other species.
